Jewels, what is this ring?

I have a ring that I inherited from my grandmother. I have no idea of the origin of the ring and if it is real or not. The metal ring is a silver-white color. I got the ring and not my finger has turned green well, so I do not think is bronze, but I'm not sure if it is silver. The stone appears to be a "diamond" However, there seems no scratches on the inside "diamond" and the facet is not wax, is soft clear.and. The "diamond" is performed adjusted real by spikes. The ring has been placed on your jeweler for 22 years and has not tarnished at all. When I tried to investigate the seal, nothing happened. Has anyone seen a seal that seems to some like this -> <-U-<5? The arrows have a straight line through the connection? Please help!
