Has anyone had a damaged diamond to be repaired?

I brought a ring to adjust the size to get my ring and I noticed a line very thin on the table and a white place now stands on the diamond. He told me it was a pen .. was not there when he brought me in.. not that thin line .. a jeweler can break a diamond, while the repair? He told me it was impossible and I never realized the pen call. I've had this gem of 4 years I think I would realized the pen .. I can not find my papers on them and never had to assigned … What can I do .. A diamond can be damaged while being repaired?

There is a difference between a pen and a crack. Ask a gemologist to identify exactly what it is and the problem will be easier to solve.
