I'm doing a handfasting, but are not using it as a wedding, more than one step in our faith?

Do we have to use everything in the handfasting for example, exchange of rings, the blessing of the rings?

It depends on if you want to start using the rings at this point. If is only a statement of class and not a wedding, it could well do without the rings. I think in general the handfasting ceremonies are less organized as to customize as we like. I was in a long term relationship, a time that used a ceremony attended by some "votes" of classes and 9 knots with a ribbon red. I think it was Ray Buckland "Gypsy Love Magick".
