Jewelry Rings

My wife has put on a platinum wedding ring for 4 years. It is getting a red rash now. Do we have a new ring???

It is a red rash on her ring finger only. The skin looks a bit too flakey. It gets better after she takes it away and basically disappears. We sent to be a professional cleaning, polishing, etc., with the hope that maybe it was something about the ring that could be cleaned. This is the only ring she wears. Will change to white gold ring to relieve the rash or irritation, or you have to go without any kind of ring?

Allergies may occur after prolonged exposure to an allergen. Take her to the doc to see if you are allergic to platinum now, and take the ring to a Jewl to see if it has been compromised. If she is now allgeric, then could / probbaly need (s) of a new ring.
